The Professional Playground began with one person’s gift for connecting people — and a simple idea: put professionals from different industries in the same room, every week.

Our story

Founder Lisa R. Chidester has always been the person who knows who you should meet. She doesn’t just collect contacts — she builds relationships and makes introductions that matter. The Professional Playground grew out of that instinct.

Co-owner Mike Carroll brought years of experience in business, marketing, design and technology, and saw the chance to build real infrastructure around the gatherings. As attendance grew, something happened: regulars started welcoming newcomers and making introductions on their own. That’s when we knew it had become a community.

What we believe

Networking should go further than a stack of business cards. We build lasting relationships on trust and consistency, so when an opportunity comes up, you know exactly who to call — and they know to call you.
